The towns of Jaén and even more Úbeda and Baeza are some jewels in the Andalucían crown! And it's really hard to choose where to stay, because there are some extremely interesting hotels around in these lovely towns.

Baeza is like Úbeda a renaissance city. It's not quit as interesting as Úbeda, but well worth a visit.

Deputación Provincial de Jaén

Jaén isn't the most interesting town in Andalucía. But Castillo de Santa Catalina (today a Parador), with a magnificent view of the city is a very interesting stop over.

The village of Segura de la Sierra (2 000 inhabitants) is spectacularly situated at 1200 m above sea level. Both towns of Cazorla and Segura de la Sierra are part of the "Parque Natural de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas". This is the biggest national park in Spain. Inside the park, there are a Parador which offers superb accommodation even in such a remote location.

Ayuntamiento de Úbeda: Semana Santa

Ever heard about Úbeda? It's actually one of Europe's greatest renaissance towns. And the hilltop town of Úbeda (35 000 inhabitants) do have a couple of outstanding hotels. A night at the Parador is highly recommended! This Parador is situated at the beautiful "Plaza de Vázquez de Molina". But where to stay in Úbeda is a difficult decision, Hotel Palacio de la Rambla is an extremely tempting alternative to the Parador (se more under "Accommodation").

Staying in Úbeda, there are several alternative excursion. Baeza is just 10 minutes away, the "Parque Natural de Cazorla" is nearby and the Province capital of Jéan can be reached in less than one hour.
